Terms and Conditions "Best Price Guaranteed" for alitalia.be valid from 30 March, 2007 to 31 December, 2007

The “Best Price Guaranteed” initiative allows customers to request a refund for the difference in price between the price of an Alitalia flight bought on the Alitalia.be website and a cheaper fare for the exact same flight found on another .be website.

With the term “price” we indicate the total amount paid by the customer for the air ticket (fare + taxes and surcharges).
To be eligible for the refund under the “Best Price Guaranteed” (BPG) scheme, customers should have finalised the booking and purchased the ticket as per conditions indicated in the following articles of these terms and conditions. To be eligible for the refund, all conditions indicated in this section have to be met.

The “Best Price Guaranteed” is only applicable to “flight only” purchases on Alitalia.be selecting the “search by price” or "search by schedule" tool and on Economy class tickets. The guarantee does not cover bookings made using “Advanced search”, feature (multi-leg) and “Pay later” feature available for MilleMiglia members only.

Flights covered by the “Best Price Guaranteed” (BPG) are domestic, international and intercontinental flights operated by Alitalia, Alitalia Express and Air Alps, with AZ code, originating from or with destination Belgium. AZ flights operated by other carriers are not included.

Itineraries which include flights not operated by Alitalia, Alitalia Express and Air Alps are not eligible for the BPG.
The fare purchased on Alitalia.be has to be the cheapest fare available at the time of purchase.
The request for refund can only be sent if, after the purchase on Alitalia.be has been completed, customer finds, on other .be travel/tourism website, a price for the same flight which is cheaper by at least 10 € (5€ for one way tickets) compared with the one purchased on Alitalia.be (difference is intended per booking).

The expression “same flight” means that flights have the same flight code (es. AZ201), the same departure times, same dates, same number of passengers and same fare rules (restrictions). In case of itineraries including multiple legs, these should be in the same order.
The competing quotation for the flight should be expressed in euros.
The guarantee is only applicable to fares which can be actually purchased and are not just published on the website.
Requests for refund of the difference in price can only be sent to Alitalia through the online form provided, and has to be received no later than midnight (belgian time) of the same day of purchase of the flight. Requests sent via email, telephone or letter will not be processed.

Customers could be requested to provide evidence of the cheaper fare, by sending a screenshot or a printout of the page showing the competing price. Customers should keep proof of the above mentioned proofs of their claim until they receive a notification by Alitalia that the request of refund has been either accepted or denied.

Alitalia reserves the right to verify claims made by customers.

Alitalia is not responsible for requests not received in time due to technical faults (internet connection problems, etc).

Only one request of refund can be made for each booking reference (PNR).

Final decision by Alitalia is undisputable

The “Best Price Guaranteed” does not apply to the following: 

1)     The competing fare found on another .be website is cheaper due to a special promotion (e-coupon, fidelity program etc)

2)     The difference in price is due to a mistake on the third party website

3)     The flight is part of a holiday package which includes other services (dynamic packaging)

4)     Alitalia is not able (in good faith and for reasonable motives) to verify the claim made by a customer

5)     The customer has requested or is requesting cancellation and subsequent refund of the ticket, according to the specific fare rules

The information and personal details communicated to Alitalia by the customer will only be used for communications related to the servicing of the claim (refund and e-coupon, where applicable). The details will be eliminated within 6 months from the date of receipt. Alitalia reserves the right to amend the Terms and Conditions of the “Best Price Guaranteed” promotion without notifying the customers.
