Claims and suggestions

Suggestments and complaints Your opinions about the quality of our services is an important issue for us. 
If you have suggestions or comments on Alitalia services or if you wish to make a written claim or complaint, you can contact Alitalia at the following address:

If you live abroad, you can contact your nearest Alitalia Customers Relations Office which handles customers’ claims and suggestions in various countries. Moreover, each local Alitalia office (depending on how it is organized) can deal directly with claims after receiving the relevant communication, together with all the documentation required. 
Compensation issues are dealt with by means of vouchers for air tickets. 

Documentation to be sent:
  • The airline ticket or electronic ticket receipt
  • Boarding pass (es)
  • Complain form

If the problem is due to a baggage delay or baggage loss within the first 5 days, please contact the Lost and Found department directly at the following phone number:

From the 6th day or if your baggage is missing, the personnel in charge will issue a Property Irregularity Report (P.I.R.) and a copy will be given to you.
If you are not a resident in the city of arrival and it is not possible to deliver your baggage to you within one day, you will receive a 'basic needs' kit (contents may vary per country/airport).
For the first 5 days that you are staying in the arrival city, you may contact the local Lost & Found Office (the phone number will be given to you when the P.I.R. is issued).

After the first 5 days, if your baggage has not been found, you will have to send all the documentation listed below by registered mail to the following address:

Original documentation to be sent:
  • A detailed list of the baggage contents
  •  The airline ticket or electronic ticket receipt
  •  The receipt for excess baggage (if paid)
  •  The baggage claim receipt for the missing luggage
The Property Irregularity Report (P.I.R.) filled out upon arrival at the airport.
