European Union and the Italian Civil Aviation Authority have introduced security rules that limit the amount of liquid substances passengers can take through airport security checks.The new security measures apply to all passengers departing from airports in the European Union including Norway, Iceland and Switzerland, and travelling to any destination.
Passengers will be allowed to carry on board small quantities of liquids only. Liquids should be carried in individual containers with a maximum capacity of 100ml. / 3.4oz. or equivalent (100gr.). All items will have to be carried in a clear, transparent, re-sealable, one-litre capacity (e.g. 18x20cm in size) plastic bag. Only one plastic bag will be allowed per passenger.

Purchases it is still possible to buy items (including liquids) in shops located after security checks, or on board aircraft operated by airlines registered in European Community member countries.
For items purchased whilst in transit to a country outside of the European Community, specific packaging requirements may apply for that country. Further information can be found at place of purchase.
Substances which are considered liquids
Animal origin food products (meat, milk or products based on them) may be carriers of pathogen elements, spreading contagious animal diseases.
There are strict controls and procedures for introduction of these products in the European Union. Travellers* must submit such products for official controls. Further information is available by local health authorities.
* Travellers with small quantities for personal use are excluded if coming from: Andorra, Faeroer Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, San Marino, Switzerland.
ICAO and IATA classify all substances and materials that due to their nature may be dangerous for air transport and are forbidden on passenger flights, both in registered baggage and carry-on.
