Why aren't all the destinations served by Alitalia included in the online service?
Because you can only buy tickets online: 
  • all flights, operated by Alitalia, to/from destinations where e-tickets are available 
  • a few flights, where e-tickets are available, operated by other airlines in codesharing with Alitalia 
  • from now on, flights operated by Air One to/from destinations where e-tickets are available.
You can buy tickets for other destinations served by Alitalia through Alitalia local offices.
How many people can I buy for online?
You can buy tickets online for a maximum of 7 passengers over 2 years old (of which one at least adult) and of as many children from 0 to 23 months as many are the corresponding adults.
Can I buy a ticket online for an infant (0-23 months)?
Yes, you can but don’t forget that infants must be accompanied by adults.
Just type the number of infants (0-23 months) in the appropriate box at the beginning of the booking section.
During the ticket buying process, you’ll be asked to give personal details about the infant and the person responsible for it.
Can I buy online for a child under 12-year-old who is travelling alone?
In order to ensure special care and attention for children, it is not possible to buy tickets online for children (up to 12 years old) travelling alone.
For children between 5 and 14 years old (finished) a special procedure for unaccompanied minors must be enacted and completed at your local Alitalia office.
Can I buy a ticket for other travellers online?
Yes, you can. But remember that if you are a MilleMiglia member, you earn miles only if you are one of the passengers in the purchasing list.
How far in advance can I buy online?
You can buy up to 341 days before any part of your journey (outbound or inbound).
During online purchase, how can I go back from the payment page to the one before, of the passenger data?
If at the moment of payment you want to go back to the page of passenger data, you must click on the browser's 'back' button.
After how long does an incomplete reservation unfinalised with the ticket purchase expire?
Immediately, if ticket purchase is not done at the same time.
How can I pay online for my e-Ticket?
To pay online, you can use one of the following credit cards: MasterCard (only if payment is in euros), Visa and American Express.
My credit card has been refused. What can I do?
Check that you have entered the card number correctly (without leaving spaces between the figures) and that the expiry date is entered in the correct month/year format (e.g. September 2008 = 09/08).
Remember though that card credit refusal reasons may be various, but you'll find all information messages you need to complete your purchase.
How do I know that my purchase has been successful?
If you reach the last step of the online purchase process called 'Receipt' it means it has been successful. This page shows the purchase corresponding receipt that you must print and take with you for travel and show at check-in desks.
Further, if you have correctly inserted your email address when requested and sending it goes through with no problems, you will receive a description of your purchase. This email is not a receipt or proof of confirm and the ticket purchased will be there anyway even if you should not receive it. You will receive confirmation the moment you have completed the purchasing procedure and you will be assigned a confirmation number for your booking (PNR) to be shown at check-in.
Can I choose my seat when I book and buy online?
Yes. During the online purchase procedure, you can choose your aircraft onboard seat when booking.
Seat pre-assignment may be done only on intercontinental flights for one or more passengers and multiple legs.
This service is unavailable on Air One flights.
Can I buy a ticket online to fly with an airline other than Alitalia?
Yes, if they are Alitalia flights and other airlines with whom there is a code-sharing agreement.
You can also purchase Air One flights to/from destinations which have e-ticket available.
What is the e-Coupon?
An e-Coupon is an alfanumeric discount code (made up of letters and numbers) which gives you a further discount on tickets purchased on the Alitalia website. After selecting destination and flights, during the purchase process an e-Coupon space will appear where you will digit the code given, shown in the website page that describes the ongoing promotion. Once typed, the fare is recalculated with the e-Coupon discount amount.
What else can I buy on the website?
You can also buy on the site, besides airline tickets, some services: 
  • car rental 
  • hotel reservation

How will I be able to verify/modify/cancel a reservation previously made through the Air One call center or website? Will I be able to do it through the Alitalia local office or will I have to call Air One’s?
You will have to continue the transaction with the carrier that has issued your ticket: if it is an Air One ticket you must contact the Air One call center.
I have purchased a ticket with your airline: will it still be valid on January 13?
Yes, your ticket will still be valid if the destination is part of our network. If it will no longer be served by us we will proceed and book you on another flight or refund your ticket.
How can I verify/modify/cancel a reservation previously made through the Air One call center or website? Can I do it through the Alitalia local office or do I have to call Air One’s?
You can continue the transaction with the carrier that has issued your ticket: if it is an Air One ticket you must contact the Air One call center.
Is it possible to purchase an Air One ticket through the Alitalia local office or website?
Yes, it is already possible to purchase tickets for all the destinations that are part of the new network for travel starting January 13, 2009.
