Security codes for online purchase
Buying your ticket online is more secure than ever.
When you pay, just write in the CVC or CVV codes, along with the rest of your credit card details.
These codes are an additional safety measure when you purchase online, as they enable Alitalia and the credit card firms to verify the cardholder’s identity, thus reducing the risk of fraud. For the time being, the security code is optional (though strongly advised). However, it will soon be made compulsory.
The security code initials and where it is placed on the card, vary according to card type and the issuing bank.
American Express card’s four-figure security code is located on the front of the card, above the credit card number.
Mastercard, Visa, Diners Club card’s three-figure security code is located on the back of the card, just at the end of the code, below the space for the signature.
