TRAVEL FROM TEL AVIV TO RIO DE JANEIRO
Rio de Janeiro is a city of contrasts, where you can’t help but move from one extreme to another. From stunning coastlines to edgy underground nightlife haunts, from splendid monuments to favela societies, the city constantly leads travellers on a dynamic trajectory.
You may be able to spot the iconic statue of Cristo Redentor atop the Corcovado Mountain on your fight from Tel Aviv to Rio de Janeiro in one of Alitalia's prestigious and modern aircraft.
WHAT TO DO IN RIO
When traveling from Tel Aviv to Rio de Janeiro, a visit to the statue of Christ is a must, as is a cable-car trip to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain. The views are particularly impressive as the sun is going down. Copacabana and Ipanema beaches are justifiably world-famous, as is Mardi Gras.
WHEN TO GO
Between September and February visitors can enjoy Carnival rehearsals (every Saturday night) in various samba schools round the city like those at the Mangueira Samba School.
If flying from Tel Aviv to Rio de Janeiro in February or March doesn't fit your schedule, you can still experience the noise and spectacle of the carnival rehearsals at other times of the year when cheap hotels in Rio de Janeiro are plentiful.
