Traveling to Curitiba (CWB)

When you fly to Curitiba with Alitalia in one of their extra-comfort seats, you'll arrive ready to experience one of Brazil's 'greenest' and most environmentally aware cities.

Things to see in Curitiba

Curitiba is an old city, with origins dating back to the early 18th-century and Portuguese colonial times. The Panoramic Tower is a good place to start as it offers the chance to get a high-up view of the city. In Japan Square you'll find beautiful cherry trees imported from Japan, as well as Japanese architecture, in honor of the many Japanese immigrants who helped to build the city. The Municipal Market is interesting as much of the produce on sale is of organic and bio production, a further testament to the city's commitment to health. The Oscar Niemeyer Museum is the largest in South America. When you travel to Curitiba, you will be spoiled for choice in terms of things to do!

When to go

Flying to Curitiba at any time of the year will guarantee you a wide choice of art festivals. Tickets to Curitiba's theatre festival in April are very popular and there are four Japanese “Matsuri” (festivals) held approximately each quarter. The Curitiba International Ecological Marathon held at the end of the year is renowned as one of the world's toughest.
