Traveling to Iguazu Falls (IGU)

Flying to Foz Do Iguaçu in one of Alitalia's young fleet will enable you to see some true wonders of the natural world on the southwestern edge of Brazil.

Sights in Foz Do Iguaçu

This is a small and modern border town, that's globally famous for the nearby vast Iguazu Falls, which straddle the border between Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. This is also a shared National Park area, which is rich in wildlife. Air tickets to Foz Do Iguaçu offer more than just the wonders of the falls, though. The nearby hydroelectric Itaipu Dam is the largest generator of electricity in the world. The “Parque das Aves” is a riot of color with its richly exotic bird collection that will delight everyone.

When to go

If you fly to Foz Do Iguaçu, in spring or fall, you will catch the waterfalls at their best as the water flows will be at their highest. Travel to Foz do Iguaçu in February if you'd like to catch the fun of the carnival. Christmas and New Year are also times of widespread fun, as are some Muslim and Hindu festivals.
