CHANGING TRAVEL PLANS

Below you can find information on how to change your travel booking, to request a voucher or ticket refund and to receive assistance.

 

PASSENGERS WHO NO LONGER WANT TO FLY AS PER THE SCHEDULE INDICATED ON THE TICKET
 

All passengers who purchase an Alitalia ticket from 1 August to 31 December 2020 for flights until 31 October 2021 can request, before the departure date of the trip or even later, as long as the passenger cancels the flight booking before departure (no-show not allowed):          

 

  • A flight change (rebooking or change of destination), with possible fare integration, to travel within one year of the date of the original flight.
  • A refund of the purchased ticket or its residual value, an option that is valid only for tickets that meet the fare conditions for the possibility of a refund.

 

All passengers who purchase an Alitalia ticket from 1 August to 30 September 2020 for flights until 31 July 2021 can request, before the departure date of the trip or even later, as long as the passenger cancels the flight booking before departure (no-show not allowed):          

 

  • A flight change (rebooking or change of destination), with possible fare integration, to travel within one year of the date of the original flight.
  • A refund of the purchased ticket or its residual value, an option that is valid only for tickets that meet the fare conditions for the possibility of a refund.

All passengers who have purchased a ticket from 1 May to 31 July 2020 for flights until 31 July 2021 can apply, before the scheduled date of the trip or also after the flight departure date, if the booking was cancelled by the passenger before the departure (no-show not entitled to require rebooking), for:

 

  • One change of booking (rebooking or change of destination), with possible fare repricing, to travel within 1 year from the original flight date
  • A nominative voucher for an amount equal to the value of the ticket purchased or its residual value, valid for one year, to fly from the voucher date of issue, to any destination offered by Alitalia (at least first leg of the itinerary of the new ticket purchased through the voucher must be flown within one year from the voucher date of issue). The voucher must be requested before the departure date of the flight that the passenger intends to renounce to.
  • A refund for an amount equal to the price of the ticket or of the remaining value of the part or its residual value completed, only if the refund is allowed by the fare rules of the ticket purchased.

All passengers who have purchased a ticket by 30 April 2020 on international markets (except Brazil), for flights from 11 March to 30 September 2020, can apply, before the scheduled date of the trip or also after the flight departure date, if the booking was cancelled by the passenger before the departure (no-show not entitled to require rebooking), for:

 

  • One change of booking (rebooking or change of destination), with possible fare repricing, to travel within 1 year from the original flight date
  • A nominative voucher for an amount equal to the value of the ticket purchased or its residual value, valid for one year, from the voucher date of issue, to fly to any destination offered by Alitalia (at least first leg of the itinerary of the new ticket purchased through the voucher must be flown within one year from the voucher date of issue). The voucher must be requested before the departure date of the flight that the passenger intends to renounce to. Passengers who were booked on flights prior to May 15, 2020 and who have not canceled their booking even if they have renounced to fly, can require the voucher by August 31, 2020.
  • A refund for an amount equal to the value of the ticket purchased or its residual value, only if the refund is allowed by the fare rules of the ticket purchased. 

 

 

PASSENGERS WHO HAD THEIR FLIGHT CANCELED

 

All passengers who have purchased, on international markets (except Brazil) within 30 September, for trips between 11 March and 31 October, an Alitalia (055) ticket whose flight has been canceled, can request the following:
 

  • A change of booking (rebooking or rerouting, with no change of destination of departure and arrival), without fare repricing, to travel within the 7 previous or following days from the date of the canceled flight. The change of booking must be requested before the departure date of the flight that was canceled.
  • One change of booking (rebooking, rerouting or change of destination), with possible fare repricing, to travel within 1 year from the canceled flight date
  • A refund of the price of the ticket or of the remaining value of the part of the trip which has not yet been completed. (3)

    The request will be processed and defined as soon as possible, in compliance with the Reg. CE261 / 2004.

     For Alitalia (055) tickets purchased in Italy with travel dates from March 11th to June 2, 2020, the refund is only allowed according to fare rules of the ticket.

 

A nominative voucher, valid for 18 months r from its issue date, for an amount equal to the value of the ticket purchased or its residual value, increased of a fixed amount (15€ if the canceled flight was domestic or international, 60€ if the canceled flight was intercontinental), to fly to any destination served by Alitalia.

The fixed extravalue will not be applied (i) to passengers under the age of two (2) years and ii) to vouchers already issued for the value of the ticket before July 17th 2020, based on the conditions offered and accepted.

The voucher increased of a fixed amount will have the following characteristics, applicable to all vouchers requested and also already issued for flights scheduled from 11 March  to 31 October 2020, canceled by 31 August 2020:

  • valid for 18 months from the date of issue;
  • issued to original passenger’s name, but usable for issuing tickets to third parties;
  • can be used to fly to any destination served by Alitalia even, beyond the validity period, provided that the relative booking is made within the 18 months from the date of issue deadline;
  • can be claimed within 31 December 2020.

 

If the voucher is not used within 18 months of validity, the original value of the purchased ticket will be refunded, or the residual value of the ticket in case of partial use of the voucher.

The refund may also be requested, at the option of the passenger, after 12 months from the date of issue.

In any case, the voucher will be refunded net of the fixed amounts increases indicated above

 

 

PASSENGERS WITH MILLEMIGLIA AWARD TICKETS

 

All passengers who have requested a MilleMiglia award ticket from 1 August to 31 December 2020 for flights until 31 October 2021, and who decide not to travel, can request, before the scheduled date of the trip, a change of booking or to have their miles credited back and the reimbursement of airport taxes.

 

All passengers who have requested a MilleMiglia award ticket by 30 April 2020 for flights from 11 March to 30 September 2020, and who decide not to travel, can request, before the scheduled date of the trip, a change of booking or to have their miles credited back and the reimbursement of airport taxes.
 

Passengers who have requested a MilleMiglia award ticket from 1 August to 30 September 2020 for flights until 31 July 2021, and who decide not to travel, can request, before the scheduled date of the trip, a change of booking or to have their miles credited back and the reimbursement of airport taxes.

 

Passengers who have requested a MilleMiglia award ticket by 30 September 2020 for flights from 11 March to 31 October 2020 that were canceled can request a change of booking or to have their miles credited back and the reimbursement of airport taxes.

 

 

 

PASSENGERS INVOLVED IN THE “COVID TESTED” FLIGHTS TEST

 

Following the Lazio Region Ordinance number Z00058 of 11 September 2020, in collaboration with Aeroporti di Roma, for one month from 16 September, 2 out of the 7 Alitalia operated flights from Rome Fiumicino - Milan Linate will only carry passengers who have tested negative for Covid-19, who have undergone a free rapid antigen test before boarding or present a medical certificate with a negative molecular (RT-PCR) or antigen test result carried out within 72 hours before boarding​. To change your booking you can contact the travel agency directly where your ticket was purchased. For tickets purchased via Alitalia channels, please telephone the Call Center.

 

To request a nominative voucher or refund, in case of tickets purchased at a travel agent, you can contact the travel agency where your ticket was purchased. For tickets purchased via Alitalia channels, passengers can click on the link found in the e-mail they will receive informing them of the flight cancellation and, when possible, of the automatic rebooking on an alternative flight.
