According to Decree-law no.73 of May 25, 2021, converted into Law of July 23, 2021, no. 106 (as modified by Decree-law of September 10, 2021, no. 121), a fund of 100 million euro was set up for 2021 in the estimates of the Ministry of Economic Development (MISE) to guarantee the reimbursement of flight tickets, as well as vouchers issued by the extraordinary administration of Alitalia as a consequence of the epidemiological emergency from Covid-19, which are not usable after October 14, 2021 due to the sale of the flight operations assets of the company.
Alitalia, therefore, confirms that it will reimburse the aforementioned flight tickets and vouchers to those holders who are entitled to them, communicating the methods to make the request, upon receipt of the resources that will be made available within the implementation of the aforementioned regulatory provision when all the conditions are met.
Without prejudice to the foregoing, it is confirmed that Alitalia is already proceeding with the management of refund requests for vouchers and tickets on the basis of the rules applicable to them (e.g., vouchers issued in the face of flight cancellations or due to the renouncement because of Covid-19 are refundable 12 months after being issued, at the request of the entitled person, or at the expiry of 18 or 24 months, according to the applicable regulation).
In consideration of the period of time between the Voucher issue date and the Voucher expiry date, in any case, Alitalia suggests passengers to send a refund request for the expired Voucher with the aforementioned characteristics, using the voucher refund form here, or by contacting the call center at the number 06-65859246 (available 24/7) from Italy or +39 0665649 from abroad, in order to confirm or modify personal and contact data, necessary for the correct management of the reimbursement process and for the payment of the related amounts.
