Obligations for passengers to inform the Prevention Department of the Health Authority of their arrival in Italy

Following the Decree of the Italian Ministry of Infrastructures and Transports n. 120 of 17 March 2020 passengers arriving in Italy, even if asymptomatic, must inform the Prevention Department of the local Health Authority and must observe a period of 14 days of health monitoring and mandatory self-isolation. Should they experience any COVID-19 related symptoms they should immediately inform the Health Authority. This obligation does not apply to passengers who arrive in Italy for certified business requirements or for a period of maximum 72 hours, with a possible extension of 48 hours for justified reasons. These passengers are required to show a self certification specifying that they are entering Italy exclusively for business reasons and they undertake the obligation, if they experience any COVID-19 related symptom, to promptly inform the Prevention Department of the competent Health Authority and to observe a period of self-isolation while waiting for the decisions of the Health Authority.
