  • The cost of the upgrade in miles is calculated for each individual leg of the journey. For example, the miles required for a round trip flight from Tel Aviv to New York with a paid ticket in booking classes Y, B, M and H are as follows: Tel Aviv-Rome = 15,000 miles (AZ3) + Rome-New York = 25,000 miles (AZ5), Total = 40,000 miles
  • Upgrades from Economy to Economy Premium and from Economy to Business Class Medium and Magnifica are available for tickets purchased (through any sales channel) in booking classes Y, B, M and H, or K, V and T. The miles required will vary depending on the type of ticket purchased. Upgrades from Economy Premium to Magnifica are available for tickets purchased in booking class P
  • Members can request an Upgrade to the upper class only when holding an Alitalia ticket (ticket number 055) for Alitalia operating flights (showing AZ flight code 055). Flights operated by other airlines, flight operated by Alitalia but booked with other airlines codes, and Alitalia flights with approach/prosecution with flights not operated by Alitalia are not included.
  • The upgrade must be requested after the ticketed has been issued
  • The beneficiary of the upgrade can be the Member him/herself or else a person indicated by the same, provided that he/she is the holder of the economy class ticket issued in one of the aforementioned booking classes
  • The seats reserved on board are limited. Waiting list upgrades are not permitted
  • Miles used for upgrades are non refundable and no changes to the itinerary and/or date/time and/or beneficiary are permitted for upgrades that have already been confirmed
  • The miles earned for the flight are those awarded for the fare originally purchased by the member
  • The destinations shown on the table may be subject to change due to operational changes to the flights operated by Alitalia
  • All matters not expressly addressed by these Regulations are subject to the conditions of reward use contained in the MilleMiglia Program Regulations
  • Upgrades can be requested:
    • By contacting MilleMiglia Customer Service during business hours, up until one day prior to your flight's departure
    • By visiting an Alitalia ticket desk on the day of your departure*. In this case, the passenger must arrive at the airport ahead of the suggested check-in time for the flight. The recommended early arrival times vary based on the destination:
      • 1.5 hours for domestic flights, except for flights leaving from Rome Fiumicino, for which passengers are required to arrive 2 hours in advance
      • 2 hours for medium haul international flights
      • 5 hours for long haul international flights

  • Some of these airports may also require ticketing fees to be paid, which will vary based on the departure city and the destination
  • Confirmations on upgrades to higher travel classes are subject to seat availability on board. For upgrades to Business Class Long Haul, confirmation may also be subject to meal service availability
  • In the event that the person requesting the upgrade is not the holder of the MilleMiglia account in question, upon the issuance of the reward a copy of the travel documents will be sent to the email address or fax number given in the account holder's profile, as well as to the address indicated by the beneficiary. Where no email address or fax number is available in the Member's account profile, it will not be possible to issue rewards to beneficiaries other than the account holder
  • In the event that the reward is issued to a beneficiary other than the MilleMiglia account holder, at the time of check-in the beneficiary must present the necessary documentation relating to the reward: travel document, personal identification document, written proxy signed by the MilleMiglia account holder and a photocopy of the MilleMiglia account holder's identification document and MilleMiglia Card.
